We’ve secured funding from innovate UK!
We’re pleased to announce that earlier this year, we received a grant from Innovate UK to help tackle the impact of Covid-19. The grant was awarded as part of a project aiming to sustain existing and continuing innovation in the UK’s R&D intensive companies, throughout the current COVID-19 challenges and beyond.
Here’s how we’re using the money:
As technology continues to have a growing part in the way we live our lives, both personally and professionally, we felt that many sectors beyond the hospitality industry would benefit from a cost effective way to find, manage and pay staff, at the touch of a button. That’s why we’re pleased to announce that we’ve chosen to allocate part of this funding to adapt and distribute our pre-existing technology to other sectors, aiming to provide powerful tech for everything from education to farming, changing the way we aggregate and manage the work in this country.
As we branch out to and connect with new sectors, we’ll modify our market leading tech for each sector (and lots of other cool tricks). Just like our hospitality platform, this technology will allow hirers to connect with and directly manage workers for a shift, a day, a week or a month, as well as handling payment and payroll automatically.
We’re really excited about applying the magic of limber to new sectors and we hope it’ll be a significant step towards modernising the way we work and hire.
However, as the Covid-19 pandemic has worsened and continues to have a detrimental effect on businesses, we knew that first and foremost, the funding had to go towards supporting the hospitality sector in its survival and recovery of Covid-19.
We understand that the past three months have caused huge financial strain to many business owners, and while some have been able to continue to operate takeaway services and other Covid friendly means of trading, others have had to hunker down and wait for things to improve. That’s why earlier this month we utilised our Innovate UK funding to allow us to turn off all limber fees while businesses get back on their feet.
While the past three months have been filled with uncertainty, we want you to be able to rest assured that you can continue to connect with incredible staff and keep your business running smoothly, without the added financial burden. We can’t guarantee exactly how long we’ll be able to keep limber free, but promise to support you in keeping costs down for as long as possible. We also hope that this no-fee period will go towards getting our loyal limber users back into work, and provide them with some much-needed financial support, allowing the incredible limber community to continue to grow.
