đź—’ About the role

We have a de-coupled stack that is containerised and hosted on AWS. We also use AWS lambdas for running various tasks. The front-end tech we use is, angularJS and React, Webpack + modular Javascript, Sass, Cordova, Ionic. Both the hirer and worker UI exist as Android, iOS and web versions. Our back-end, Java (Play Framework), GraphQL, Couchbase, AWS / Google Cloud and Firebase. Our pipeline, Gitlab, Fastlane and docker.

You’ll be joining our CTO and senior developer in the product team and you’ll be responsible for:

  • Building/designing great new features for our users
  • Creating clear, functional, unit tested code
  • Ensuring solutions are scalable
  • improving our product’s UX throughout the platform

Our prioritization process is refreshingly relaxed. With our business priorities in mind, we all discuss possible problems/improvements/features which relate to those priorities. Then we use a mixture of data (where available) and good judgment to decide what to do next.

We’re pretty light on progress and big on getting stuff done so if you like to be somewhere where you can just get on with it, this is the place for you!

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with experience in some of our stack but more importantly, the ability to turn their hand to whichever technology we choose. Good communication skills and a willingness to learn will also go a long way. Our core technical requirements are:

  • JS and Java
  • NoSQL and SQL db experience
  • Web development
  • Third-party integrations e.g. fb login, firebase
  • Someone who wants to work in a small startup environment and solve real world problems for our users
  • Being able to chat easily with other members of the team (tech and non tech)
Our “nice to haves/bonus point” skills are:
  • Cross-platform app development eg Cordova, Ionic, Capacitor
  • Fastlane and Gitlab
  • AWS (lambdas etc)
  • React and AngularJS (old)
  • Play 2 framework
  • GraphQL

But, ultimately, we’re a product led business, so you have to love building new features that real life humans use. If you’re really into tech, but not so much into product, then there might be better opportunities elsewhere for you.

How do you apply?

Please apply by email to chris@limber.work (copying in egon@limber.work). We would love you to apply with some examples of work you’ve done or features you’ve built. That will give us a really good feel for whether you’d enjoy working at limber.
